The Nikon Z6III gets top marks across Europe
The reviews are in, and Nikon’s newest mirrorless camera is a huge hit!
The Nikon Z6III is a powerhouse for stills and video, packed with innovation, incredible features and many of the functions of the Z8 and Z9 but at a lower price and in a smaller body. But you don’t have to take our word for it, as the awards and rave reviews keep coming. Here’s what a few have said.
Best Advanced Full Frame Camera 2024-2025, EISA
Naming the Nikon Z6III the best Advanced Full Frame Camera of 2024/25, the prestigious Expert Imaging and Sound Association said: “The Nikon Z6III brings many functions of the professional Z8 and Z9 cameras at a lower price. In some areas, it even surpasses them. For example, its new OLED viewfinder is significantly brighter and capable of displaying the large DCI-P3 colour space. Video enthusiasts in particular are likely to welcome the more versatile 3.2in fully articulated screen. The new 24.5MP partially stacked image sensor can be read out very quickly, which reduces rolling shutter distortion. It also eliminates viewfinder blackout during continuous shooting, which is possible at a maximum of 60 JPEG or 20 raw full resolution images per second. In terms of image quality, the Z6III impresses with its outstanding noise behaviour at high ISO values. Another strength is the image stabiliser, which provides up to 8 stops compensation at the active autofocus point.”
Impresses across the board’ – Computerbild.de
Computerbild.de said the Z6III delivered outstanding image quality, especially at high ISO values and was “significantly faster than its predecessors”. The AF also impressed judges with its “speed, accuracy and improved subject recognition”. The EVF was a highlight for the reviewer, with its “extremely high brightness”. The review added: “The Nikon Z6III does everything really well. Whether it’s the image quality of photos and videos or the speed of autofocus and continuous shooting, the Z6III always impresses.”
‘An epic all-rounder’ – Digital Camera World
Digital Camera World deemed the Z6III “a dream camera for content creators through to enthusiast and pro photographers”, awarding it five stars. The EVF was praised as “something of a masterpiece in its own right”, with the reviewer saying, “Just putting my eye on the viewfinder gave me an instant wow factor”.
Autofocus performance was deemed “akin to Z8 levels of speed and accuracy”, with “particularly superb” animal recognition.
In the overall verdict, the reviewer concluded: “It’s a stunning camera for shooting stills, and the new vari-angle screen with its front-facing facility makes the Z6III equally adept for vlogging and other videography. The speed, accuracy and consistency of the autofocus system with its subject recognition and tracking abilities is superb, even in near-darkness, and the bottom line is that image quality is simply stellar.”
‘Superb workmanship’ – Image & Nature
Image & Nature’s review said: “The focus is clearly one of the Nikon Z6III’s strengths, both in terms of precision and speed.
“Admittedly, the Nikon Z6III’s price has risen a little, but that’s for a good cause, given the camera’s superb workmanship. It’s the kind of camera that will shake up your certainties if you’re equipped with the competition.”
‘A boost in bursts and a leap forward in video’ – Les Numériques
Les Numériques rated the Nikon Z6III 5/5, adding: “Nikon impresses with a camera capable of shooting sports and action photos without having to suffer the weight of its bigger brothers, the Z8 and Z9. With its beautiful EVF and excellent build quality, it’s really comfortable to use, and its video capabilities make it very versatile and attractive.”
‘A convincing product for demanding photographers’ – Tagesanzeiger.ch
Tagesanzeiger.ch’s said: “What I like about the Z6III is the fast autofocus, which recognizes objects and automatically focuses on the eye in the case of people. I also like the brighter and sharper viewfinder, the excellent image stabilization and the manual options.”
‘Full frame camera goes to the limit’ – CHIP.de
CHIP.de rated the Z6III as “very good” as a result of the high levels of technology in the camera. It praised the new partially stacked sensor and improved AF and concluded: “Numerous video features make it a good choice for professional videographers”.
‘A strong contender for being the best in its class’ – ePHOTOzine.com
ePHOTOzine.com highlighted many positives about the Z6III, including “superb ISO performance” and “significantly improved AF speed”. It described the EVF as “amazing” and said the sensor delivered “stunning quality for both stills and video.” It concluded: “Handling the Z6III is a real pleasure, a fine camera well designed and well-made and giving exceptional results.”
